Hatch operates as an 8-week job training program that pairs life skills workshops with industry-standard culinary and hospitality training for young adults aged 18 to 24. The coffee shop serves as the working classroom for that program, giving trainees paid, hands-on experience preparing and serving drinks. Hatch is organized as a 501(c)3 nonprofit, and proceeds support its workforce development mission.
