Affiliate Disclosure

Some links on this site earn us a commission. They never cost you anything extra, and they do not change which cafes or products we recommend. Below is the full detail.

Amazon Associates

Third Wave Coffee Near Me is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

When we link to a grinder, kettle, brewer, or bag of beans on Amazon, that link carries our tracking tag. If you buy, Amazon pays us a small percentage out of its own margin. Your price is identical to the price you would pay arriving at Amazon any other way.

Cafe listings are not affiliate links

This is the important one, because it is the part people reasonably worry about on a directory site.

  • Cafes do not pay to be listed, and they cannot pay to rank higher in our city guides.
  • We do not remove a cafe because it declined to work with us.
  • Where a listing is a paid placement or advertisement, it is labeled as one on the page. If it is not labeled, it is not paid.

Advertising

This site also displays third-party advertising, including Google AdSense. Those ads are served by an ad network rather than chosen by us, and the revenue is not tied to anything we write.

How we pick what to recommend

  • Gear gets recommended on whether it makes better coffee at its price, not on what it pays. The commission difference between two grinders is a rounding error; being wrong in front of readers is not.
  • When the cheaper option is the right answer, we say so. It usually pays us less.
  • “You do not need this” is a legitimate recommendation, and we use it. Most people brewing at home need a good grinder and very little else.
  • If we have not used something, we say so instead of implying we have.

What this funds

Hosting, and the work of keeping several hundred cafe listings across a dozen cities accurate — checking which shops have closed, moved, or changed hours. That maintenance is the actual cost of a directory, and affiliate revenue is what pays for it.
